[new release, review & giveaway] The Day She Cried by K. Webster

The Day She Cried

by K. Webster Publication Date: October 17, 2017 Genres: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance

She was my first love. She was my first hate. The very sun in my world tried to burn me alive with her lies and cruelty. Until I dimmed her light for good… Or so I thought. Now she’s back. Cracked. Broken. Lost. And for the first time in a long time, I feel free. Free from our past. Free from my present that suffocates me. Free to destroy her future. Her misery is my music. Thrilling. Invigorating. Intoxicating. For so long, all I’ve done is hate her. So why do I love her?

☆☆☆☆☆5 STAR - AMAZING, couldn't put it down, highly recommend (emotions bursting at the seams)
My review:
The Day She Cried by K. Webster brought me to a speechless state. I sat there on my couch afterwards simply relaying this book in my head. It spoke volumes and tugged on my heartstrings.

Raven was a girl that showed you ONLY what she wanted them to see. People thought she was weak when in fact, she was the bravest of them all. I adored her from the very start. There was a pull to her that I couldn't pretend wasn't there. I wanted to know her, be-friend her, hug her and respect her. Her twin, Rome was thought to be as opposite as her. As the story unraveled, you start getting a peek at who Rome really is. To me, Rome was imperfectly perfect! Courtney was a character built to make you think before doing. She was raw and misunderstood. She was just as much trying to find her place as others' were. Was she a sheep or a wolf?

"Pure beauty" is what comes to mind after finishing The Day She Cried.

Heartbreaking, yet beautiful.
Radiant, yet raw.
Depressing, yet comforting.
Addicting. Powerful. Exceptional.

The Day She Cried was one of those epic, hard to beat reads that will forever be etched in the back of my mind.

Author K. Webster really set the bar on this one! Floored by this author's words, characters' and how she took this story to a whole new level. This is not as dark as some of her other work, yet has an element of surprise and touches emotional subjects in the "real world." She brings you into her book world and shows you a different view point than you would typically gravitate towards. TDSC teaches a valuable lesson - things may not always be what they seem and sometimes you really have to take off those rose covered glasses to see the whole picture before executing judgment.

I whole heartedly recommend TDSC to fellow readers! TDSC was one of those rarity books that I wish I could give 7 Stars to... yes, that special!

I received an e-arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
