☆☆☆☆4 STAR - Great book & would recommend book (two thumbs up)
Allie Ross isn't where she thought she would be. Wasn't life suppose to work out as you planned. After the Ponzi scheme by her parents and now the death of her beloved grandma, she discovers things just couldn't go more wrong. One dinner with her ex-fiancé shouldn't be this complicated.
Jack Carpenter isn't the same slacker he was when Allie ended their relationship sixteen years prior. He made a name for himself and wants to rub it in at who he is now. One casual night would be enough to get his point across.
Little did they both know that fate had a different goal for the two of them. Would they be able to overcome their hurt? Would secrets keep them away for good this time? When it is all laid out on the table, the discover just what they want..
This Time Around by Tawna Fenske was a book that couldn't be put down - epic second chance romance. The drama within the pages drew you in and the comedy kept you laughing. Tawna has a whit that made me laugh throughout this romantic comedy. She has a way with words that makes you smile and wonder - where did she come up with that!?
Don't worry, once you read it you will discover the hidden gems that will be sure to make you laugh!
Allie's growth in the book, from her younger self to her present self-discoveries were enlightening and positive. I enjoyed reading her story and how she has learned to adapt, roll with the punches and take life for the journey it is.
Jack's character sat dear to me. I instantly knew that he was someone that I would love. Yup, fiction boyfriend material - check! Sexy, responsible, sensual and did I happen to already mention sexy? Okay... I did, but to be fair he deserves to be called sexy more than once. His lovable demeanor pops off the pages and embedded straight into my heart. I felt a personal connection to him as his relationship with his father was not exactly too far off from the one I personally had with my own father. His need and passion resonated in the depths of my heart that made me want to shout at the author, willing her to chose a good ending for him. I was pleased with this from cover to cover.
I would recommend This Time Around to fellow readers. I have become a fan of this author and can now categorize her as a "must read" author!
I hope that she has a second "standalone" to this book.. I want to find out if she has anything in store for Wade. I would not doubt for a moment that it would be a great addition to the characters she has built that I now have a deep fondness for.

Talented chef Meg Delaney hasn’t spoken to her cheating ex-fiancé, Matt Midland, for two years. Ditching him at the altar after blurting out “I can’t” instead of “I do” would sour any relationship.
